With 5 international tours under his belt, Aaron Abrahamson Cote has worked with The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Bobby McFerrin, Glenn Kotche of Wilco, ska legends The Skatalites, Bim Skala Bim, Vic Ruggiero from The Slackers, King Django, Murphy's Law & numerous television and Broadway Actors. Cote has been televised on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, & PBS, and has performed on multiple regional and National Public Radio (NPR) stations. Cote has appeared on recordings with Dr. Ring Ding (Germany), Agent Jay (NYC), The Ska Jazz Messengers (Venezuela), The Classy Wrecks (Canada), and Victor Rice (Brazil).
Cote wrote over 50 tunes in 2013, topping his record with over 100 tunes in 2020. His book, Sea Breeze, was originally released through prestigious Steel Pan publisher HillBridge Music, and re-released alongside Mr. Cote's subsequent collections Chasing Summer, Put It Behind You, The Panoramic View, Dedications, Joyful Noise, and Splash of Sunlight (2022) through Tropical Shores Productions. Many of his tunes have been purchased and performed internationally.
In 2023, Cote's band Panoramic View has used recording projects to explor crossover genres like symphonic works vs. dub reggae, odd metered jazz, and using the pan as a sound scape rather than just melodic content.
As an educator, Aaron Abrahamson Cote has presented diverse workshops for the Rhode Island chapter of the Percussive Arts Society, The Rhode Island Music Educators Association, and numerous additional organizations, camps and schools reaching students from ages 1 to 100! Cote also served as a long term substitute Chorus Director and music teacher for the Jamestown School Department, and subsequently for the Cole Middle School in East Greenwich - a group that won their first Platinum Medal at The Great East Festival under his direction.
Mr. Cote obtained his Bachelors from Butler University and his Masters in Music Performance as a Graduate Teacher & New Music resident at the University of Illinois. He pursued further studies in Music Education at Gordon College. A member of numerous bands including Panoramic View and The Island Time Steel Band, he also records & performs regularly as a freelance musician.
